DJ Houser Live Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 4, 2026
DJ Houser Live is a streaming and audio playback app that lets you listen to live DJ sets and archived shows. The app is designed to collect as little data as possible. We don't require accounts, and we don't track how you use the app.
What Data the App Stores
DJ Houser Live stores a small amount of data locally on your device: your notification preference setting and cached audio files for offline playback. No personal information is stored on our servers unless you opt into push notifications (see below).
Network Requests the App Makes
The app communicates with djhouser.live and hls.djhouser.live to provide its core functionality. None of these requests include personal information beyond what is described below.
Stream Status & Show Configuration
The app polls the DJ Houser Live API every 10 seconds to check whether a live stream is active, retrieve show details, and get the next show schedule. No personal data is included in these requests.
Live Stream (Video & Audio)
When you tap “Tune In,” the app connects to an HLS stream. In Video mode, the stream includes both video and audio from hls.djhouser.live. In Audio mode, a separate audio-only stream is used from audio.djhouser.live. Both are standard media stream requests; no personal information is transmitted.
Archive Playback & Caching
When you play an archived show, the app downloads the audio file from djhouser.live and caches it locally for faster future playback. Cached files are stored in your device's temporary cache directory and may be cleared by the system at any time.
Listener Count
During a live stream, the app sends a randomly generated session ID to the server every 30 seconds to report an active listener. This ID is created fresh each time you open the app and cannot be used to identify you across sessions.
Recently Played Tracks
During a live stream, the app fetches the list of recently played tracks from the server. This is a read-only request with no personal data.
Cover Art
The app may download album or show cover images from the server for display in the archive list, CarPlay interface, and lock screen now-playing controls.
Push Notifications
If you enable push notifications, the app sends your Apple Push Notification service (APNs) device token and the platform identifier (“ios”) to our server. This token is used solely to send you notifications when a live stream starts. We do not associate this token with any other personal information. You can disable notifications at any time in the app's Settings tab or in iOS Settings.
CarPlay
DJ Houser Live supports Apple CarPlay, allowing you to browse and play live streams and archived shows from your car's display. CarPlay uses the same data and network requests described above. No additional data is collected or transmitted when using CarPlay.
Device Permissions
Analytics and Advertising
DJ Houser Live contains no analytics libraries, no advertising SDKs, and no crash-reporting services that transmit data to third parties. There is no tracking of how you use the app.
Children's Privacy
DJ Houser Live does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. The only data transmitted to our server is an optional push notification token, which cannot identify a specific individual.
Changes to This Policy
If we add features that change what data is collected or transmitted, we will update this policy before releasing the update and note the change in the App Store release notes.
